Disadvantages: Going out of fashion with the dawn of internal memory

Memory cards have been such an important part of my gaming life. I've always maintained quite a large collection of games, especially so on the PS2. And with this memory card, you won't go wrong if you're a big gamer.

I first purchased this memory card a few years back. I got the standard 8mb Sony card with my PS2, and it was fine for a while. But I managed to fill it up. One thing I hate doing is going through my memory and deleting games from it, you never know when you'll return to them. But with this card combined with my 8mb one, I haven't had to once. It is double the size and, therefore, holds twice as much. This is definitely not a bad thing. And if you shop around you can find these little beauties for some pretty good prices too.

Mine came with a small disc of arcade games, which was a cute feature, but didn't keep me entertained for too long. But it's always nice to get that little bit more for your money.

There is also a 32mb version of this card, which for now I have no need for, but my collection is always expanding and I'm sure the day will come when I'll need it. But if you're sentimental like me, and hold onto those old game files, then this is perfect for you!

I have never experienced corruption of files, which I have with some other cards, and it's truly devestating. It's always run perfectly, and I'd say better than some Sony cards!

It's sad that these are going out of fashion, as one of my favourite things to do was travel to a friends place with my card and some games and play together with all the unlocked features I have achieved, and these were perfect for that purpose. With the dawn of internal memory, this is more difficult. While it's possible, it involves buying a seperate device which is compatible and large enough to hold your memory, and these can get pricey. The memory card is cheap, you always got one pre-packaged with the console and files were saved straight to it, no transfers necessary.

I'd reccomend this to any gamers who still love their PS2, and have a big collection to boot. It will store a heck of a lot of files and is easily removed and upgraded, with absolutely no technical know-how necessary. Plus, you can put two in every Playstation 2 console and really boost it's capacity.
