Advantages: Price, build quality, transfer speed

Disadvantages: Currently limits to 32gb

Kingston are *the* name in flash memory and have been for many a year, the only manufacturer coming close to their quality are Sandisk.

The 8GB SDHC (HC = High Capacity) is part of the latest range and latest technology, offering larger capacity cards at affordable prices. The build quality is excellent as ever with Kingston, none of the cheap Chinese imitations from eBay that fall apart when the plastic is cut poorly or glued instead of clipped etc...

Now flash is judged primarily on two factors: price and transfer/read speed.

My 8GB SDHC cost me about £13 delivered in July 2009 which in my honest opinion is a fantastic price. The speeds I have experienced are equally good, I have it in my EEE netbook at the moment and cutting and pasting a 700mb file from a local network folder to my netbook onto the card took me about 5 minutes, which is pretty good for the price I think.

Highly recommend this card or even the larger 16/32gb ones for your netbook/camera/other digital device...

Glad to help, Sandisk are the affordable name, Kingston the quality. If you buy posh kit why not add posh accessories is my belief! One tip don't buy any flash off eBay, even if it's in the UK it's probably a Chinese import fake with a Kingston sticker printed off at home. Get it off ebuyer/overclockers/amazo n to be sure its genuine. Fake flash memory is big business, so don't get done!
