I managed to pick up one of these around a year ago for £14.99 which was a bit of a bargain as they usually sell for around £20. I bought it to use in my digital camera and to use with my ps3.
Data transfers really fast as long as you don't try to transfer to much at once. I have done this a couple of times and it crashes my computer to the extent were you have to reboot. I have transferred jpeg to my ps3 a number of times with no problems and was very hope with the download speed.
I primarily use this to upload photos from my camera to my laptop, images transfer within seconds but larger files such as videos do take a little longer. I have a number of memory cards and must say it does seem to take a little longer with this one. The card has the usual lock function on the side of the card which I've put on a couple of times when I have finished using it and then wondered the next time I wanted to use it why it wasn't working. After a couple of minutes of cursing at the memory card I usually figured out that it was me being an idiot!
Apart from the memory card crashing my computer a couple of times and being a little slow I've had no other problems with this little card. A little bit more expensive than some cards of the same type but does the job that it is meant to do.
This is an expensive card so you would expect it to be good, and i can say it certainly is. I have however had one fault where it crashed my laptop. It can't transfer three files at once (big ones) from this to a device because it can't deal with that much at once.
I have had a few problems with it in my PS3 when transferring pictures, as it came up "corrupt" for some JPEG's, but i think this was my fault since I didn't download them properly.
It transfers pretty fast - video's that are about 2 minutes long can take a lot of time, whereas pictures it happens in seconds. Its well built too, it is kind of flimsy because it is thin plastic, but the little connectors on each end are protected from grease and fingermarks, so it is OK to touch them.
It says 16GB but when loaded to something it tells me its actually 15.98GB so I'm guessing they just rounded it up before it went on sale? Not much though, only 20mb.
There is a lock function on this, and the idea is that files cant be copied to or from the device, and this works perfectly, although it is a real paint o get it on because of the tiny switch at the side, and then my PS3 will keep moaning that it can't read it properly, but that's because i deliberately locked it down, so not a problem there.
Its a fantastic card and i would recommend it, but get two just in case you need the extra space.
