When I recently purchased a new DSLR camera I was not sure what kind or size of card to use with it. I therefore asked online in photography forums where professionals and amateurs gave me a lot of advice and then recommended this particular card.
I have used this brand, SanDisk, before and knew they were reliable as my other cards (for my compact cameras) have never failed. It is basically the size and speed of the card that makes the difference with this purchase. I was told that for a DSLR camera to have at least a 16GB card is a must. More space on the card determines quality of pictures taken and also provides you with more shooting options. Sandisk Extreme cards are generally aimed at more advanced photographers though. Visit the official site to see the differences between the Extreme range and their other card ranges and also for specific facts on how many photos this particular card can hold.
The card allows me to shoot and store hundreds of pictures and HD videos. It also gives me the option of shooting in RAW if I wanted to. The card allows me to produce a high quality, sharp image with lots of intricate detail.
When using the card to transfer images to computers it works quickly and efficiently with no problems. It can also be accessed using a connection cord direct to the camera although I prefer using it in a SD card reader as it's quick and very simple to use.
The card has proved to be durable and of a high quality in terms of performance but also it's physical aspect. Like other cards it has a small lock on the side which can be used to protect photos and footage.
I would definitely purchase this product in the future and would recommend it to anyone just starting out with a DSLR camera.
A very reliable and 'hardened' card that can be used in a variety of the high end digital SLR cameras as well as for the more mundane tasks like file copying between computers and uploading photos. The emphasis from the marketing blurb is on speed and to be fair, you'll struggle to take so many shots on a camera that it can't keep up. The 16gb capacity gave me the ability to shoot both RAW and high quality JPEG formats on all my photo taking with my SLR, and when uploading via my card reader to my computer to do some post processing, it is noticeably faster than doing this via the cables supplied with the camera. My card also went through a full cycle wash by accident when I left it in a jeans pocket - and again, it has come out working perfectly after a bit of judicious drying on a radiator. Top quality card.
