      Disadvantages

Works well and has been reliable

My first Sandisk Micro SD card came as a freebie with a mobile phone. Although the phone itself had the capability to store images and data on it, I was told that it was much better to use the Micro SD card in my phone and store more important stuff there.

Now I can't say I am a very techy person, so I wasn't 100% sure at the time, what I was getting, but to me it was a freebie so of course I took it and it went straight into my phone in the space provided.

I have since found that having a Micro SD card in a mobile phone is a very useful thing. After all with all the stuff we save to our mobiles these days they can soon become clogged up with rubbish and end up with very little storage space left.

      **********************************************************
The Micro SD system is very easy to use. You get a teeny tiny chip that goes into your phone, it has copper bits on it that connect to the places they need to, so that you can transfer your stuff to the mini card. The card I have is a Scandisk 1GB Micro SD, which looks like the one in the pic here.

Its a tiny grey plastic looking thing and looks very innocent and not very useful, till you put it into your phone. I have found that I can store lots of photos on the card and they can be stored in new files, so that I can easily find them later.

This means that they can be printed off as and when I want to, which is great. of course you do need a photo quality printer to do that. I have a Kodak printer and the card works really well with that.

      **********************************************************
You do need an adaptor for the Micro SD card if you want to use it in other devices such as printers and lap tops etc. But the set does come with the adaptor, a clear plastic storage container for that and the little card you put into your phone.

The printer I have allows the adaptor card to slot straight in and then I can just scroll through the images to see which one I want to print. This is very handy indeed, as I have several hundred photo quality pics stored on the card at the moment.

      **********************************************************
For video capture, you can choose to make folders for the videos you want to store and again, you can choose to upload these to your computer via the adaptor if your computer has a slot for the card. This is a real bonus as you often take quick videos filling up your phones memory. Without the Micro SD card some would have to be deleted if you wanted to record any more. With the card you just re home them to that, its very simple.

Over all I have been happy with this Micro SD Scandisk card and although I have now bought other cards with more storage capabilities on them, this was a really good starting point. The product has been very reliable and is still working well.

      **********************************************************
One thing I would say is that you ought to get your self a small storage box, to store any cards and adaptors not in use, as they are quite small and can be easily misplaced with all your precious pics and videos in them.

Price wise these cards are cheap to by now as larger cards are available. So expect to pay no more than £2 to £4 for them as the bigger GB cards made for phones can offer better value.

Rating this as 4 stars as there are cards with greater storage abilities on the market.
