If you like taking snaps with a digital camera then at some point you will want more storage space for them than what came with your camera.

I had one of the scandisk ultra II cards. It was a 16gb class 2 sdhc card. I have had a lot of different cards with a range of storage sizes and speeds including one of these.

The 16gb storage space was useful and I think it was good because it could store more photos than several smaller cards could. When I used this I didn't have to take extra cards with me to store photos but it was not very good for video and I found out I should have had a faster 4 or 6 class card for that instead.


This card was good for going out and taking single photos but not for video. There is nothing worse than when you can see some good shots that you want to take quickly and don't want to miss out on but don't have any more space to store everything.

The card was ok for storing photos but this card is not great for rapid shots and worse for video. The write speed on the 16gb ultra II is a bit better than the class 2 description makes you think. The card has a top speed of 8 or 9 gb per second and that is better than the 2 speed minimum some class 2 cards have.

If you take lot of rapid fire photos then the card being class 2 will be a problem like it was for me and you will be better getting a faster card. I think this card ok for single shots but when I wanted to record video using the card it was a let down.

I got a bit confused between the card being high capacity and high speed when I got it and that was my mistake. The card is ok for some stuff but is a let down in the areas I mentioned here.
