Advantages: Fast, cheap, reliable, comes with MS PRO adaptor
Disadvantages: Small amount of space
The 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo is a memory stick made by Sony.
The Sony 1GB Pro Duo memory stick is a small memory stick finished in a black plastic that can be used with a variety of devices from a camera, mobile to the PSP games console which is what I bought mine for.
Packaged with the memory stick you will get a little dust cover but unfortunately it isn't made of a durable plastic its just a rubber sleeve so wont offer any protection from knocks. An adaptor to make it work with devices that support the more common Memory Stick Pro is also included.
My experience using with the PSP was very good, it detected as soon as it was plugged in and I could use it to store my save game data as well as connect it to my computer with a card reader and add MP3s, videos and pictures to it. The transfer speed is also very good coming in faster than my much newer Sandisk memory stick which is impressive seeing as this is a good three year old memory card.
You don't get the full 1GB of space but only 980MB not a big loss but I wish
they would give you all of the space that you pay for! That issue aside the memory stick has been flawless the only downside is its relatively small amount of space, it will still be decent enough to store a few MP3 files and pictures but if you are working with larger files 1GB will not be enough.
I paid £50 for this when I bought it but prices have since fallen dramatically and you can get one for as little as £5 now, if 1GB is enough space for you I cannot recommend it highly enough, it is reliable, cheap and fast.
Summary: A good stick if 1GB is all you need.
