I got this memory card a couple of years ago to go with my camera. This memory card is exclusively used in sony products, meaning that it is often considerably more expensive than the more standard SD cards. On the bright side at least you know you are getting a SONY product.
It comes with an adapter to convert it to memory stick duo. Although this could be useful to some, I have never used it as I have never come across something that takes a memory stick duo.
Although it says its 'high speed', personally I cant really see the difference between these and the normal cards. The only reason I got a 'high speed' one is because it was on offer and cheaper than the others. So if your thinking of buying on the basis of this, just buy one of the normal ones if they are cheaper.
The capacity of this card is very good in my opinion, on my 7MP camera I can take 585 full resolution photos on this card or 26 mins of high quality film. Which is plenty of space for me, but this may differ for others.
The build quality of this is reasonable, but is i a little flimsy. After about a year a small piece of plastic broke off, but this did not affect its workings, i just have to be careful inserting it. Also, the text has faded so it looks blank, but again this is just a cosmetic issue.
Overall, this is a good memory card, although in comparison, I cant see the difference between 'high speed' and the normal cards.
Oh no this card has got to be one of the slowest ive used. I got it as a spare card for my psp because i had ran out of space. As a fan of music i wanted to put some mp3s onto it, i selected around 500mb of tracks and copied them over. As the window opened i saw that the card was only transferring files at a measly 1.7 mb per second and was dropping between that and 1mb/s . Now this speed compared to another card i got for my psp, read the review here: members.dooyoo.co.uk/flash-memory/sandisk-gaming-4-gb-memory-stick-pro-duo
The speed of that 4gb card was peaking 6mb/s compared to this "high speed" sony cards measly 1.7 mb/s.
Now if you were to put 2gb worth of mp3s on this card it would take on average around 20 minutes, might not sound that bad but compared to the other 4gb card which would take around 6 minutes! This difference in speed is alot so if you are looking for a "high speed" card then do not pick this sony one as it is very dissapointing.
Now enough of the down side, once you get your files on this card then there is really no quarrel. This card is compatible with psps and sony phones that take the pro duo memory cards, but for the same price you could easily buy a 2gb card from sandisk instead as their cards come with warranty and they know how to produce high quality cards.
Hope i helped
Purchased this stick overseas so cant quote a good price check but memory sticks in stores are vastly overpriced in the uk. However online deals are brilliant.
Product was purchased for my camera which is a very high quality cannon i use for work so i needed the extra space to save things on.
Cant comment on the packaging as it didnt stand out in any way, the memory is also useable with other devices in my case with my mobile phone. So its a good investment.
The Sony High Speed 2 GB memory stick pro duo, is the perfect opportunity to turn your sony phone (w750/ w810 / 850 ) into a multimedia accessory. With this added memory I find that my phone is now as good as an ipod. So although it is a bit pricey, it saved you the cost of a ipod!
This memory stick would also enable to load many films/music onto your psp - although I cannot really comment on this as I do not own a psp.
Good product, great price, what more can I say. Buy one.
