NON SDHC 4GB card - brilliant for older SD devices (Transcend 4 GB SD Memory Card)

Disadvantages: Hard to find if older devices are compatible with 4gb SD card.

When buying a 4gb SD card for my camera (Canon A520) I seemed to have little choice in 4gb memory cards. The reason my choice was so limited was that my camera does not support SDHC (HC = high capacity) cards, and most 4 GB SD cards are designed for the SDHC standard.

This card is accepted in my old camera fine, but my old ipaq 5450 pocket pc does not seem to accept this card and doesn't recognise it at all. This is most likely to be a problem with my specific pda as other users have claimed the card works fine with very similar models. Before buying this card it's worth looking researching online to see other users' opinions.

The card is quick to access and I've had no major problems with it at all. I've used it in lots of devices, both SDHC and non SDHC, and it's worked perfectly in all of them (accept my pda).

Overall I'm still pleased with the card. Some many devices today seem to use SD cards and, as SDHC devices are backwards compatible with SD cards, buying this card will not be a waste of money, even if you have to use it with a different device than you planned.

Summary: A card that is really useful to expand the memory of older devices, but not all devices support 4gb.
