....make sure you leave your Magimix on your kitchen surface!

I wanted a food processor to replace my old Kenwood which had served me well for many years. After researching on line it was a choice between a Magimix or a Kitchenaid. Both makes are a lot more expensive than others, but I am a serious cook and wanted something which would last, both seemed appropriate. I bought the Magimix 4200 rather than the Kitchenaid alternative, from John Lewis at £269.00 mainly due to the fact that its styling appealed to me. The sales assistant was very helpful, and offered one piece of advice;which I ignored :-( she said make sure you leave it on a kitchen surface to get the most out of it.

So having returned home I immediately started using my new piece of kit. Brilliant, really very good at everything I threw at it; just what I wanted. Then I put it away, and it sat in my cupboard for the majority of the next 12 months. It's heavy and cumbersome, and not being on hand; I did without it.

Then a reorganisation of my kitchen meant that I couldn't store it away any more, and out it came. Wow! How did I do without it!? It slices, chops, grates, shreds and liquidises in addition to whisking, blending and mixing. Easy to use and easy to clean, just not easy to carry and store away. Its fast, efficient and maybe not so quiet as others have mentioned, but the noise level is fine for me.

I won't be storing it away again.

If your kitchen surfaces are none to large then don't buy this model, buy the smaller Magimix Le Mini Plus which costs around £139.00. Whatever you do, keep your Magimix handy!
