Here's a nice shop! Just the name on its own will make most women melt, and I suppose that's half the fun! Really this is a shop aimed at women. Why? Because it's full of chocolate, and it plays on the image of a hotel. I mean, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but this is NOT a hotel! You can't stay here, you can't book a room! No, the name is all about creating that image of a restful, chocolatey place, and fair play to them.
Ours is in the shopping mall, and you have to be a certain type of shop to get in there. The inner is a bit like a health spa - minimalist and quiet, with the staff in black, it's all about indulgence.
They sell lots of chocolate, and it's all pretty expensive. Their bars are special in all different ways. You can buy them in luscious looking slabs in a clear plastic bag which looks really cool, but you'll pay £10 for about £3 worth of chocolate (or the equivalent size). They do the most bizarre flavours such as chilli chocolate (yes, that's chocolate with chilli in it).
The choccy looks really good, but tastes average in my own opinion. Still, because it's so well presented it makes a nice gift which is always worth remembering around Christmas.
There are some small individual choccies that you can pick up for around £2 each, but they're only small.
Similar offers are the luxury chocs at Sainsburys which cost a similar price for the small bars.
The staff are friendly and helpful, explaining the stock well.
All in all, a nice enough shop that looks great but is pretty expensive.

- 09/11/09 I disagree that this stuff tastes 'average' I recently had a huge box of their chocolates and it had some of the most delicious things I have ever tasted in it! If you get the chance to try the caramel milk chocolate do so because it is amazing! Donna x |
