Advantages: Everything you could want - cheaper!

Disadvantages: Not for pushcairs or wheelchairs

I've shopped in this supermarket a few times now, and I'm still impressed.

Sometimes, an Oriental Supermarket is the only place to find the things you need for a recipe you're having a go at.
Janson Hong (Bridge St, Peterborough) is THE place to go for chinese ingredients and impliments around the Peterborough area. They have everything you could ever need.

What makes this shop better than any other I've tried, is the staff. If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask. If they don't have what is on your recipe, they'll be able to suggest an alternative, and even give you guidance on how to cook it!

And of course, if you're in the market for a new wok - look no further. Every size, every type, and for every hob.

I apologise if this sounds like a running advert for them, but many non-mainstream shops can be a little shy about helping customers that are obviously not from that origins, if you understand what I'm trying to say! Janson Hong are very welcoming without being suffocating.

The only down point I can offer up, is the shop is not very big, and may not be the best for those with wheelchairs or pushchairs.
But on the upside, the goods are cheaper than you'll find in the mainstream supermarkets. I bought soy sauce a lot cheaper than I've seen elsewhere.

And of course, I couldn't resist a new pair of chopsticks while I was there. They're not only beautifully designed, but I found them easier to eat with than some others too. Maybe that was just me though!

To sum up - if you need oriental foodstuffs, or cooking utencils, try your nearest Oriental Supermarket first
