Premium Review Tesco Express: Not my cup of tea! (151 words)

Convieniently located generally, so good for grabbing something quickly on the way home. open later than other shops around too so thats a benifit. However, I find when looking for something in particular they often don't have it, which i find really annoying especially wwhen you have no alternate place to shop so end up buying something else not ...  Read the complete review

You find Tesco's stores all over the place and it just so happens that my local Esso petrol station doubles up as a Tesco's Extra. Although I'm quite ashamed to say it, even though I know Tesco's Extra isn't the cheapest (or the best) supermarket, I continue to spend a fortune in there in-between big shops. The range in the store isn't ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review My Experience Of Using Tesco Express (397 words)

We have one of these models of Tesco down the road from me. Like the description says it's built into a petrol station and I think the format is the same throughout whereby the store is theirs but the petrol isn't. The Tesco I'm referring to has Esso petrol in their pumps. The main benefit is that it's owned by someone that you trust ...  Read the complete review

Tesco express stores for a quick drop in, if you need to buy essentials but haven't got the time to go to a proper supermarket and go on a big shop, popping into tesco express can keep you topped up mid-week on groceries and fuel, as well as having things such as birthday and greetings cards and alcohol, which is perfect for a convenience ...  Read the complete review

Tesco have come up with a new plan to abolish their check out staff in the smaller Tesco Express stores, and instead have the self service check outs where you scan your own items, and pay via card, or cash. The stores themselves The Tesco Express stores are much smaller than the normal Tesco shops, and sell a smaller ...  Read the complete review

It was a sad day when the Texas Express store took over from the Spar shop in our village, not that I miss the Spar as to be honest the Tesco Express has more choice and the produce is fresher, rather it signalled the demise of the local bakery that had been in the village for a long time, certainly well before I landed in the area, the owners ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Petrol station ones always seem a bit like drive-through off ... (425 words)
by - written on 14/10/09 (Very useful, 47 readings)

Is Tesco Express the one where people get so notoriously frustrated waiting in the checkout queue that there have, on occasion, been fatal results? These mini-supermarkets are usually found in urban areas, city centres, and a lot of them are attached to petrol stations. Many of them are quite down-at-heel looking and dingy as a result ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Express: Nowadays not the most convenient convenience store (262 words)
by - written on 13/10/09 (Very useful, 45 readings)
Rating:

Tesco Express are smaller versions of Tesco Superstores, the premise behind them is that they are open longer hours and are generally closer to bigger housing estates meaning they are accessible to more people. Quite often based in petrol stations as a convenience store, these are offered as an alternative to small local shops rather ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Too little for me (189 words)
by - written on 28/09/09 (Useful, 29 readings)

Tesco Express is my "local shop" the closest to my flat. Its very small, and doesnt seem to stock half of what I need. I went through a phase where I would pop in on my walk home if I didnt have anything at home that I wanted to eat. This became costly, due to the sheer smallness of our store, the selection is small, ...  Read the complete review

The nearest Tesco Express is about ten minutes drive away from where we live, if we are on the way to visit my Aunt then we will often stop there and pick up a newspaper and a few essentials. Our Tesco Express is a relatively new building and when it first opened the locals showed mixed feelings about having a mini-supermarket on their ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Good as a local shop but more expensive than Tesco Extra (324 words)
by - written on 20/07/09 (Very useful, 164 readings)

Tesco Express seems to have cropped up all over the place, no more are local shops an individual business, they are now all exactly the same. It's a little sad really as I quite liked the individually owned shops that were all cramped and quirky. That being said Tesco Express is pretty useful. It contains all the things that you may ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Express: Tesco express ( Brilliant convinence store ) (397 words)
by - written on 11/06/09 (Very useful, 48 readings)

I think most will find that these Tesco express shops are in built up residential areas. for example in the middle of a huge housing estate that has a few shops in the centre. They are indeed ideal for the essentials but please do not go to a tesco express expecting to find the full range of goods you would in your local tesco supermarket. ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Tesco Express

Great for a few essentials if you have run out of things during the week but dont expect Tesco cheap prices because they don't tend to do their own brands in the express stores. They are cheaper than the average local corner shops but not by much !

Back in 1998 I took my first real job at Tesco Express in Birmingham; it was only part time while completing my A-levels. This was the first Tesco Express outside of London, but being slap bang in the middle of Selly Oak where the students live it was bound to thrive. The idea behind Tesco Express is a cut down version of the store, ...  Read the complete review
