Advantages: The available brands

Disadvantages: Need to listen to what the customer wants

What can I say about Tesco?? I for years shopped at asda and always thought they had the better selection, offers and customer service. Many friends said, why not try Tesco, so we did and to our benefit. Our weekly shop between asda and now Tesco is now about £40 cheaper, mainly due to the offers and cheaper brands being available. I have also used the Tesco home delivery Grocery service, which we also found outstanding. The delivery came at time it was supposed to, and all food including fruit and bread in good order and not damaged.... which if im honest, I thought they would be! I would also like to point out that their own brand products are just as tasty as leading brands. As I worked for a major supermarket for 10yrs, I also know that a lot of own brand items are made at the leading brand factories....something to consider when you next write your shopping list! The customer service department are also out-standing. My daughter took ill on an occasion and they stepped in and took over, were I would think that other stores would have walked past and left me to deal with things!
I have decided to add to this review as I now have mixed feelings about the store.
My local Tesco store to getting a revamp, which yes, is good for customers, but the inconvenience is a disgrace.
I am a disabled driver and guess where the disabled parking is????
Yes, you got it, right at the bottom of the carpark!!!
I also watched the program with Hugh Wittingstall regarding battery chickens.
I was very surprised to see that Tesco never got involved.
I know there is a credit crunch on, but surely, customers are entitled to have a say in things, which is what Hugh was trying to do......
I know some people have no option but to buy battery chickens, but I feel that we as customers deserve to make the choice, as at the end of the day, we really are the people who pay the BIG WIGS!!!
I was also shocked when Hugh brought up a point about a farmer standing outside on a battery chicken label..... To me that would mean FREE RANGE!
Well no, I now see it as false advertising!
Don't get me wrong its still a great place to shop, but they really do need to put customer choices first as they have came across in a very negative light.
Well, I will allow you all to make your own minds up, but I know I would like the choice with proper labels on the products!

Summary: Great place to shop and cheerful helpful staff, unfortunately the BIG WIGS are not!!
