Tesco is let down by its customer service. I bought a carton of longlife orange juice which burst out of its carton in my kitchen cupboard three days after I bought it. I was a tad miffed about the smelly, sticky orange juice everywhere. But what hacked me off even more was the following two weeks of Tesco's 'customer service'.

Had the shop manager apologised and given me £5 voucher and a bottle of wine all would have been fine in my world. However, instead of this I was told to take the half empty carton of juice back to the store (I live 7 miles from the store). I was then told it would be sent off for analysis and my 49p for the carton of juice was refunded. Whopee do! I asked for a bit of compensation as I had spent an hour clearing up my kitchen and wasted petrol driving 14 miles to and from the store. At this point I was given the TESCO CUSTOMER SERVICE telephone number.

What a gang of smug jobs-worths the TESCO CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM are. I would have got more joy from talking to a brick wall. Not one of them was in a position to make a decision. In the end, I wrote to the Managing Director and he sent me £50 tesco vouchers. The following week, the customer service office sent me a £10 voucher.

Still nothing has changed. Just last week I did my shopping on-line. I got half my shopping and eight bags of someone else's. This took six phone calls to resolve - and the cheeky penny pinchers wanted to swap the bags over.
