*Introduction*

Because of the events of this week, I felt I just had to tell you all about my new found Tesco store. Not just any store but a newly built and opened superstore at Hucknall in Nottingham.
Why, you may ask would I only be so keen to tell you about this store in particular? Well there are quite a few reasons, but I should start with the fact that I have shopped at many Tesco stores across the country, Skegness, Top Valley Nottingham, Carlton, Rugby, Stratford upon Avon and London to name but a few, but this new store at Hucknall Nottingham stands out by a mile,so grab your trolley and take a little trip with me round my new store?

*Let?s go shopping*

What?s this? A new store? I think I ought to check it out in the interest of my fellow dooyoo readers!!
Hmmm, where shall I park the car? Not in the disabled bays (still waiting for my permit),not in the parent and child bays (left the kids at home), ahh, bog standard joe bloggs bays, great!!
That?s strange?I usually struggle to squeeze my Audi 100 into the spaces, but I?ve got plenty of room today. The car park?s busy, yet I?m only parked across from the doors?could it be a well organized car park at last? Enough spaces for even huge cars and a well designed lay out too? (Jane is totally confused)

Ah well I?d better go fetch a trolley and get on with the business in hand, now where are the trolleys? D?oh how could I miss them ,there are hundreds outside the main doors.

**Strange official looking man approaches us as we head towards the store**

?Excuse me madam?
I?m now feeling more worried?we?re in Nottingham, the city where manners went out with the horse and cart and the only polite address you get is in the form of ?hey up me duck?!!

?Erm, yes young man??
I can be polite too!!!

?May I get you a trolley?...which sort would you like??
Quick re-check, yes we are still

in
Hucknall, Nottingham.

The rather nice young man proceeds then to get me one of the several types of trolleys available, the sort where the basket is high so I don?t have to bend my weary back ,and I?m pleased to see I didn?t have to scrabble in my purse for a blasted pound coin to get the trolley!!
I also spotted some rather groovy kiddies trolleys with little sit in cars attached to them.. my youngest would love those!!
Oh, you might want to take a glance to the right?it appears there?s a small team of these nice helpful young men, and some are rather cute!!

Eek, look at the time, I spent so long gawping at the trolley assistants I?m running late!! Quick on with the shopping!! I?ve got to make it nippy so view it as a guided tour.

*Guided tour*

On your right hand side as you walk in you?ll notice the rather nice looking café, it smells so nice too. I think next time we come we?ll have to take more time and stop for a coffee, that is if you?ll come again?I know I will.
You?ll also notice the tobacco kiosk next to the café, you can grab your lottery tickets there too, and I notice there doesn?t seem to be a long queue whenever I come. With it there is a post box and a photo developing unit.
Next, in front of you you?ll spot the sandwich counter, complete with assorted boxed salads, sushi, crudités and snacks.
Moving forward past the stand of colorful fresh flowers, I notice several isles of items I don?t always see in the other Tesco stores, greetings cards, music, DVD and videos, bedding, towels, car accesories, electrical items and then onto clothing. Although I have come across clothing in a few stores before, this one certainly has an excellent range. Could you hang on a mo while I grab some jeans?
Thanks, hubby will be so pleased?two pairs for £10,ideal for when he gets oiled up playing cars.

Toiletries and babies isles next, they?ve certainly got
plen
ty of v
ariety, but I only need some wipes and loo roll so it won?t take a minute.
Ah I see the food isles, let?s grab some grub.
Yumm, hot chicken. That will be quick and easy for tea tonight. It?s not often I?ve seen a rotisserie in Tescos stores, but it?s nice to see and smell.
We?ll fly past the cheese counter; they?ve got some tempting cheeses on display. but I?ll grab some repacked out of the chilled isles or I?ll be here all day.
I?ve grabbed some tins off the counters as we?ve gone down them, I don?t think I?ve ever had so much choice before.
Fruit and veg next, plenty of choice here too, and I have to admit it looks far fresher better quality than in my more local store.
I really have got to get moving, so do you mind if we skim past the freezer section, drinks section and on to the bakery? You are good, I know there?s heaps to look at in those sections but we?re seeing all the special offers, as they display them on the end of each isle counter, and I?d be here all day describing all those isles and isles of products.
The bakers certainly smells nice, those cakes look great and I need some fresh bread(I haven?t got time to get the bread maker out tonight).

Well, I think that?s all I need ,the checkouts looks efficient, no queues so this shouldn?t take many minutes.I'm pleasae to see the trolly attendants are about to whisk away my trolly after unloading too.
Thanks for walking round with me, sorry I kept stopping to chat with the counter assistants ,but I needed to find out what they sell and how helpful they can be.
I hope you?ll come again next time and we can stop for that coffee!!

*Points to note*

That was my little tour of the new Tesco store, I hope you noticed how spacious and large the store was, it seemed to have a continental feel to me.
The manners and pleasantness of the staff really impressed me ,as did the huge range of go
ods and fo
ods on offer
. I haven?t found such a good selection in any other Tesco store I?ve visited before.
The fact that the shelves were also very well stocked didn?t go unnoticed as that too is seldom seen in all their stores. Special offers were good and they too were well stocked.

The store was so clean, well laid out and thoughtfully organized I shall be doing all my Tesco shopping there in future even though it?s a good ten minutes drive from me and I have a smaller store just two minutes walk from me.
If I lived more locally it would be even easier as it is situated right by the train station and a minute away from the main shopping center of hucknall, on a bus route yet still it has plenty of parking. I should mention too there?s a petrol station attached to it,and next to that an assortment of recycling bins.
They also offer financial services and bank accounts, deatials of which can be found in leafters in-store.

A reward scheme is available with Tesco clubcards, where by you can accumulate points per pound spent that are redeemable for money off coupons quarterly. The current rate of reward is equivalent to 1pence in the pound.

Tescos cheaper own brand range, known as the ?value? range is now quite extensive and on the whole offers good quality cheap alternatives to brand named foods and goods.

*Summary*

With a family of five with specific dietary requirements, shopping had become a chore until I came across the Hucknall branch of Tescos. Whilst I will continue to do some of my shopping at other supermarket chains (due to the special offers being different and me being tight!!) I shall continue to use this store as my main source of weekly shopping.
If Tescos wish to stay a the top of the supermarket competition, then they should take a good look at this store with it?s excellent staff, range, lay out, facilities and stock the take this approach to all of its other stores.
They are getting 4 stars, this store deserves all five, but as it is not a typical store they have to lose one!!

If you do live in the Nottingham area I can highly recommend you try shopping in this store at least once, I?m confident you will suitable impressed and enjoy the experience. If you don?t live in the Nottingham area, then write to head office and ask them when they are going to sort your store out!!

I rather like Tescos and since I have moved up from Devon I have found a sizeable store about five
miles away (a bit isolated for me since I don't drive and they don't offer a bus service unfortunately).
Howev er, I have shelled out for a taxi to go there once or twice and its just as you say. Good op.
