Advantages: friendly staff, discounts/offers/clubcard, cheap

Disadvantages: cold in winter, a little stressful, bag packing

Well what can i say about Tescos. Personally I love the store, this may have something to do with me working there! When I first started to work at Tescos everyone welcommed me and I loved it from day one. I sppose my view maybe a little bias but I will tell you what I think of the store.

I work on the Checkouts which is a little boring at times (espically after a 9 hour shift) but i still have a smile on my face at the end of it. When I started I was told the basic 5 things

1- Say hello when a customer comes to you. And the key thing smile!
2- ask the customer if they would like any help packing
3- ask the customer if they have a club card
4- ask the customer if they would like any cashback on certain cards
5- say thank you and goodbye as they leave.
as long as i and my colleagues stick to this then we customers all seem to apreciate the service we give them.

Before i came to work at Tescos I always liked to go shopping with my Mum. Of course we didn't always shop at Tescos, but I always preffered the store. Many people ask me what it is like working late at night but since the latest i have worked is half ten i don't feel i am qualified to answer this question. But apparently it is suprisingly busy.

The one annoying bit about our store in particular, is that it has no door. i now this may sound like a stupid thing to say but i now that it is something that customers complain alot about as well be cause in the winter half of the store that is near the door gets very cold. another annoying thing is that from the point of view of a member of staff i have to work a year before getting a discount card. the final disappointment is the packing system. If there is no one around to pack the customers bags then the cashier will have to pack the bags. For me this is annoying as i get a little bit of a mess about putting things in the correct bag and scanning. i think the customers sometimes dont like us doing i
t either as it is obviously slower as i am doing two jobs at once.

overall though i feel that the staff are freindly to customers and it is a good work enviroment.
