Advantages: Cheap products especially big brands

Disadvantages: Crowded stores

The 99p store is a bargain store selling a wide variety of products for a mere 99p. With it's biggest competitor in the market being Poundland, the outlet is growing rapidly across the country. I've noticed recently that they have opened quite a few new stores in old premies previously occupied by Woolworths.

So what exactly is on offer in store? Well there's alot of stuff which you would think isn't even worth 99p. But on a positive, there are quite alot of bargains to be had on big name products like shampoos, crisps & fizzy drinks to name but a few. You might notice though that these items may have foreigh writing on them, in which case they have been imported from abroad and probably why the store can offer you them at a cheaper price.

They always try & cram as much stuff as they can within each store so it can often be difficult to get around. Especially as the stores are normally jam packed and the queues are normally stretched right to the back of the store.

I don't mind the 99p store and will often visit my local branch to purchase some of the big brands but I'm not too keen on the overcrowding and large queues.

Summary: Good for saving money on big brands

Much like poundland, I think these stores can be a bit hit and miss as to what you can get.
