I happen to like a glass of Whisky (or even a Whiskey if I fancy a drop of the Irish!) every now and then, so when I came across this little shop I just had to pop in to have a look round Its located in Portland Square in Bakewell and is an absolutely first class place. Staff were very very knowledgable and were a pleasure to speak to and they were in no way pushy at all. The various brands are laid out very well, by country and then further divided into regions and this makes browsing a pleasure, the choice is absolutely staggering, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, American and Japanese brands all for you to choose from. I’d given up on finding a decent Christmas present for my fellas uncle (aka ‘The Bloke Who Has It All’) when I spotted The Wee Dram on a flying visit through Bakewell. As you can probably guess from the name of the place, this shop sells whisky – no, that’s much too bland a description for this wonderful little whisky specialist. The Wee Dram sells nothing but the best whiskies from Scotland and Ireland, as well as a few choice bottles from such places as Japan and Russia. Now, ‘The Bloke Who Has It All’ is 90% tee-total but has a beautifully stocked drinks cabinet of all the top makes of different spirits. He prides himself on the good looking collection ...
