Advantages: Choice, knowledgeable friendly staff.

Disadvantages: I live over a 100 miles away, not the cheapest place to buy your Whisky

I happen to like a glass of Whisky (or even a Whiskey if I fancy a drop of the Irish!) every now and then, so when I came across this little shop I just had to pop in to have a look round

Its located in Portland Square in Bakewell and is an absolutely first class place. Staff were very very knowledgable and were a pleasure to speak to and they were in no way pushy at all.

The various brands are laid out very well, by country and then further divided into regions and this makes browsing a pleasure, the choice is absolutely staggering, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, American and Japanese brands all for you to choose from.

I was in absolute heaven and knew that I would be stumped as to what to treat myself to (well I couldn't walk out without buying something, that would have been quite rude of me wouldn't it?).

Prices I thought were very reasonable for such a specialist shop, obviously you can pop into Tesco's or Sainsbury's and buy a cheaper bottle but there is something enjoyable about spending some time with specialists who know their stuff.

Summary: If you want a bottle of Whisky and are near Bakewell, make the trip its worth it.
