Having lived in Windsor over 30 years ago and had my two boys while living there, I know the area very well . I used to cook for the Queens girl grooms at Windsor castle. It was hard work but very rewarding as I used to get to see various members of the Royal Family regularly as I went about my chores. I absolutely loved it there. At the time my husband was in the Welsh Guards and had a permanent position in the castle working in The Polo Club Office. After moving back to Cheshire, which is my home, I lost touch with friends there and didnt return until my son took me for a day out 2 years ago as a treat. Windsor Farm Shop is a fabulous place to visit if you are in Windsor and, if you don't mind paying a little extra, it's a great place to shop for the freshest and most organic and tasty produce. Windsor Farm Shop is part of the Royal Farms and is on the edge of the Windsor Great Park and in view of Windsor Castle. It was started by converting a couple of old potting sheds and over time it has expanded by adding a few buildings such as the coffee shop. It sells a range of products from the Royal Farms as well as from a few local producers.
