Advantages: easy to find and park and very helpful staff.

Disadvantages: none

Having lived in Windsor over 30 years ago and had my two boys while living there, I know the area very well . I used to cook for the Queens girl grooms at Windsor castle. It was hard work but very rewarding as I used to get to see various members of the Royal Family regularly as I went about my chores. I absolutely loved it there. At the time my husband was in the Welsh Guards and had a permanent position in the castle working in The Polo Club Office.
After moving back to Cheshire, which is my home, I lost touch with friends there and didnt return until my son took me for a day out 2 years ago as a treat. It was while we were there that we took a trip on an open topped bus all around Windsor, Eton, and Datchet where we left the bus and went into the Windsor Farm Shop and restaraunt for an hour or two. It was a lovely place. Acres of land, with the Queens own cattle grazing nearby, each with their little bells around their necks!
After buying some delicious goodies to take back home to Cheshire we stayed to have a meal in the extremely clean and comfortable restaraunt. I cant remember exactly what I had, some kind of homebaked quiche with a green salad followed by fruit flan and fresh cream. Expecting it to cost quite a bit because of the surroundings we were in,my son got a couple of notes out to pay. He was gobsmacked at how reasonable it was and paid something like a tenner for the both of us. It really is an amazing place and I wouldnt have missed it for the world. I felt really special and would highly recommend a visit when next you are in the area.

Summary: fantastic way to while away an hour or two.

I'm not really seeing much in the review about the actual store itself...

This seems to be a review of a restaurant but this is a shopping category?

I must say I'm with Carcraig. It's an interesting read, but doesn't really tell anyone about the shop itself, which is what the review is about. What sort of things can I buy there? How does it compare to the supermarket? All I know, is that if I went the restaurant, I might get quiche and flan??? I'm also very happy to reread/rate. Feel free to message me if you need help or anything :)
