Advantages: refreshing, easy to carry, many flavours, light,
Disadvantages: disgusting if serve at room temperature
It is not easy to talk about this product. A yoghurt everybody knows what it is but this one is slightly different. It has a liquid form and is as refreshing as any other drinkable bottle. To all lovers of dairy products, this drinking yoghurt will not only meet your satisfaction but will also be your little friend for a while once you will have plunged into it. You won?t be able to have a day without it and will feel terrible naked if not having it daily. Appearance: It has a simple shape but will catch your eye very easily in the supermarkets aisles. It is tall, long and uniform, I can?t say it has an ergonomic shape but it fits well in handbags. What a convenient little thing, then! It has a white background and wears different coloured labels, according to the flavour. It has a convenient cap easy to screw off and on and allows you to drink it straight at the bottle. Flavours: As far as I am aware, here are the ones I know about. Raspberry, Strawberry, Vanilla, Natural (sweet of course) Apricot, Chocolate Lime. Taste: Now here is the best part because I tried most of them and then I can tell which one are the best and which one are to avoid. Fruity ones are to me the ones to have on a regular basis in your fridge, they go down very well for breakfast if in a rush, or for a snack or simply as a nice pudding. And children will love to have it. There are no bits inside so it is easier for them to drink fully. The Raspberry flavour is my favourite so far. Strawberry is not bad and is quite similar to the other red flavour. Vanilla is to be expected very exotic and I am not fond of it but it is still fresh fro those heavy summer days. Let?s come to the natural side of this Yop. It is in fact pure yoghurt with a hint of sugar in it so it isn?t bitter or too sweet and accommodates well as a nighttime thirst quencher. Apricot is most likely a usual taste and it is for me like a t
reat. I can?t have too much as I find it quite strong in favour so to have with moderation. Lime is simply and purely fresh and lemony. Ideal to pour on cereals actually. Ah now the bad boy is the Chocolate one. To me completely awful. I don?t know if it is because I can?t associate cold, chocolate, yoghurt and drink all together but it is simply not my cup of Yop this time. It is rather thick too and I have to force to make it go down my throat. Not very nice sensation. Reasons to try: The first reason is that you can have it anywhere. It is so easy to put it in a bag or simply carry it in your hand when you go to a park, shopping, travelling,?. Another reason is that it is extremely nice. The fruit taste is really there. It is quite an original way of introducing yoghurts to young kids and they seem more tempted too. Kids will absolutely love it. It is a shame it doesn?t come in a snack size so that they can be inserted into our kiddies pack lunch. The only thing really negative about it is once opened it is recommended to have it within few days. But it doesn?t matter because for me once I started it, it doesn?t take me long to finish it and get another one. And anyway even if I don?t have it all, my daughter always have a go too so you see it is never left for long. I discovered Yop when I was living in France and it used to be my favourite snack. I always had a bottle in my school bag and I quickly adopted it as a little refresher after sport too. It is so nice to feel the fresh taste of yoghurt going down your throat and your tummy gets all the things it needs after a hard day. The advertisements related to it are quite funny and I have to say they helped me in wanting to try it out. However if one recommendation, not to leave Yop in the car especially in the summer time, it will quickly go off. Well I hope this small review will help you next time you go shopping to put a bottle of
Yop in your trolley. You really need to try it. (Price is I think between £1.20 and £1.60. I am not sure though as I never really paid attention to the money side of it as I like it so much?)

- 06/08/02 These sound good... to be honest I'd always been put off by the fact the word Yop was in the name... where I come from that's not a particularly pleasant way to describe something you're meant to eat!!! |
