	Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney Pie ... very embodiment of an unhealthy food. This is a pie in a can! Despite its lack of healthy credentials i have always found this to be tasty, and have never been left unsatisfied with it. A layer of rich thick gravy is filled with decent sized chunks of steak and kidney which is prepared in a manner which makes it very tender. (whether this is a result of the vast quantities of flavourings or additives or good preparation i don t know!) The meat itself is very tasty, but i think this is more as a result of the ale enriched gravy. 	Fray Bentos Just Steak Pie ... speaking I like to make my own meals from scratch, but quite often time restrains me so I generally have "emergency" meals in the cupboard. On a recent trip to Asda I came across Fray Bentos pies on offer at two for £2. I thought that this was great value and so I threw two into my trolley. I have not had these pies since I was a little girl so I was interested to see if they tasted as good as I remember! The pies come in a variety of nine flavours (mainly based around chicken and beef - none vegetarian) but I chose the "just steak" variety. There is something comforting about Fray Bentos pies. To begin with, they are a pie, in a tin which is great - it means that it last for ages in the cupboard and is there as a quick stand by when you are in a hurry. Each pie is 475g which is just right for 2 people. I paid £1.30 for this pie but they are often to be found on offer too.
