Soreen Cinnamon and Raisin Loaf ... m still going through a Soreen Malt Loaf fetish at the moment and was in Tescos only this morning and wandering down the aisles spotted this one, Soreen Cinnamon and Raisin Fruit Loaf on a buy one get one free. So instead of the usual, I thought I d give this one a go and see how it compares. It comes in the familiar yellow packet with the Soreen logo on it, but because this is a bit different, it has pictured some cinnamon sticks and some red grapes on it too. On opening the packet, you immediately get quite a strong sniff of cinnamon which is very nice but is quite sweet. Soreen Lincolnshire Plum Fruit Loaf ... m quite a fan of this product & have been eating it for quite some time. My Mother was always a fan of Malt Loaf & one day when I saw this next to that I said that we should buy some & give it a try as it sounded quite nice. That was years ago! Licolnshire Plum Fruit Loaf is a spiced loaf with candied fruit inside. There is some citrus fruit & some cherries, but curiously no plum is used in the loaf. It has a really great taste & texture. You can taste the fruit but the flavours are sublte. I find the texture softer & less grainy than malt loaf. I also find the Plum Loaf to be very moist & soft. You can eat it sliced on it s own or with butt... Read the full review: No Plum in Lincolnshire Plum Loaf! But Great Taste Anyway by mr_nadge |

Soreen Fruity Malt Loaf ... first discovered Soreen when a friend suggested it to me as a replacement for Veda Bread which is a malty loaf that you can only get in Northern Ireland. It is not the same as Veda per se (Veda is more like a normal sized loaf and does not have any fruit) but I am still partial to the odd slice of soreen. Basically, this comes as a wee small packet and is a long life bread rather than something that goes off in a few days, its pretty squidgey too so can be a problem to cut - therefore I recommend the one that is already sliced. It tastes amazing though with a strong malty flavour and packed full of fruit - most people eat it just with butter, but I think it tast... Read the full review: Not quite a Veda by kjmccabe |
