      Very helpful

Not for me this one sadly!

I love toast and get through loaves of bread a week like you wouldn't believe! My Mother does the weekly shop and always looks for different toppings for me to try as I do get a bit bored from time to time with the same old stuff! She spotted this in Aldi and decided to give me a break from the usual strawberry jam offering she gets me. I was a little concerned to say the least...I've never had apricot 'jam' before!

      The Packaging:

454g squarish glass see-through jar and it has a black screw on/off lid to the top of it. The front label is yellow and there a photograph of apricots on it and I'm told it is Deliciously Fruity, Grandessa Apricot Conserve and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. On the back of the jar other information includes ingredients being listed, storage instructions being given, along with the size being stated and contact details for Aldi are listed. Nice enough looking jar as usual from Aldi when it comes to their conserves and it's all informative enough of course.

      The Apricot Conserve:

A bit stiffer than the consistency of a jelly it is a light orange transparent colour with no aroma to it really just a slight sweetness if you sniff at it hard lol. It spreads easily, though isn't soggy and it does have a few lumps of apricot pieces in it which are rather juicy.

Taste wise yes it tastes of apricots but for me this is simply to sweet. Sure it doesn't taste rammed full of artificial sweeteners or anything like that and it does have a natural sugary taste to it but for me there isn't enough fruit pieces in this and the 'sauce' is simply slightly too sweet and sour for me.

Not a bad apricot converse if you like this type of thing and great if you love very sweet conserves of course but this isn't 'me' at all lol.
