      An ok jam

I absolutely adore strawberry jam. You've seen no one in a week eat as many jam sandwiches or devour so much of the stuff on toast as me (not even Paddington bear!). I just am crazy about the stuff and last week my Mum decided to stop buying my favourite jam and cut back on her spending and buy me this instead. Ok I admit I was a bit upset at Aldi jam being flung at me. First off I'd never tried it and second I knew it was cheap and when it comes to jam it needs to be good quality I always think! I was worried to say the least lol.

      The Packaggin:

Square jar which is 454g in weight with a black screw on/off lid to the top of it and on the rim of that the letter G adorns it all the way round it. On the front label there is a photograph of strawberries on there and I'm told it is Grandessa Deliciously Fruity Strawberry Conserve and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. Other information on the back of the jar on a label tells me ingredients and dietary information 'Suitable for Vegetarians and Gluten Free), further nutritional information is given, storage instructions are given ( once opened keep it refrigerated and it keeps for up to 4 weeks) and contact details for Aldi are given (Grandessa produce this for Aldi stores). Nice enough jar and it's informative enough etc.

      The Jam:

Well when you first open this up your met with smooth dark red jelly looking conserve (jam to me lol). It has a very natural smelling strawberry smell to it with a lovely natural waft of sweetness. Taste wise well it's smooth apart from a few dark flecks of seeds which are tiny and add an interesting texture to the smooth jam. The jam tastes of strawberries well enough and it does have a natural sweetness to it opposed to being crammed full of yukky sweeteners and it spreads very well indeed. it isn't one bit lumpy or gloopy and is just great to spread.

However the more you use this the more the jam crumbles. By that I mean when you've used say half the jar the jam it just melts to slush making it hard to get it out of the jar which is a shame cos by then its messy to use!

      All In All:

It starts off well and I actually like it's smooth texture and blindfolded I would know what I'm eating which I really do appreciate however I don't like the fact that even though I store my jar in the fridge it gives up on life and wilts! Not bad and I wouldn't avoid it but I can't rave about it either lol
