Advantages: Tastes very nice and has loads of choc chips
Disadvantages: Eating too much of it and making myslf sick
We have started doing a bit of shopping at Aldi cos of the cheap fruit and one of the things I have discovered I like is the Chocolate Chip Brioche.
It is even better than the marks and spencers one we used to buy cos this one is much moister and is dense so that it fills me up quicker.
There are loads of chocolate chips in it and their more like chunks cos they are much bigger than normal chocolate chips that you usually get in stuff like this.
The cake is easy to rip apart when you can't be arsed finding a knife and has a strong buttery flavour that makes it delicous on its own or with custard which is how I like to eat mine. The top is nice and sticky and my mum always says it reminds her of the sticky buns she used to buy when she was a kid. Its chewier than most brioche cakes i've had but also it melts in your mouth cos it's so buttery and soft.
Its a very moorish cake and before now Ive eaten a full one i n the space of just a few hours. Its quite sweet though cos of the chocolate so I wouldn't recommend doing this cos it made me feel a bit sick afterwards.
Specially Selected is Aldi's version of the expensive supermarket brand stuff like Sainsburys Taste The Difference. Because its Aldi though its much cheaper and I think this cake is only about £1 and that is brill value cos I know the marks and spencers one is over £3 and is smaller than this one as well.
