      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Disgraceful!

Me and my mate on holiday had a right quandary! We were very poor financially and not getting paid for a day or so but had ran out of a few essential items. A spread of some description was high on our list of priorities!

We decided to get ourselves down to an Aldi not far away from our campsite and when we were in said Aldi spotted this priced at 59p a tub and decided it had to be better than buying a real cheapy, economy one from say Sainsbury's!

      The Packaging:

Light green plastic, oblong container. On the lid we're told it is Summerlite Sunflower Spread 'Low Fat 38%' and that it is rich in folic acid and vitamin B12 and that it is also a good source of Vitamin B6 and E, there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there and we are also told it is suitable for Vegetarians, is gluten free and the size is stated (500g and the only size I saw this available to purchase in). Other information on the other sides and under the tub includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients and full nutritional chart are stated as well as allergy advice being given and contact details for Aldi are listed too. Cheapy looking container but it's easy to open and use and of course it is informative enough.

A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Tub:

Summerlite is the healthier alternative to butter. This delicious spread uses sunflower oil, so leading a healthy lifestyle never tasted better.
      High in essential polyunsaturates.
      No hydrogenated oils.

      The Spread itself:

Well after me and my mate consumed some of this I said to her I'm going to review this product and her words were tell the world how crap it is will you as she pulled a sour face. Yep this stuff is just simply disgusting and doesn't have one saving grace!

Pale yellow in colour when you peel back the paper covering it smells cheap...a bit like lard. Even though we stored ours in the fridge it spread easy enough but rather thickly even if trying to use it sparingly.

Heavily salted all this is really is a greasy and cheap and nasty spread that spoilt our sandwiches and our toast! We decided we really didn't need to use a spread on anything more till we got paid...it's truly repulsive and never again would we eat this it looks and tastes like I imagine salty lard too....yukkkkkkk!
