Advantages: Fast to make, fun, cheap, easy, tasty
Disadvantages: Full of additives
I love this stuff! It comes in Butterscotch, Strawberry and Chocolate flavours, and used to come in Banana.
It is basically a sachet of powder that you whisk with milk until it is frothy. Then you leave it 5 minutes to set, and it is really thick and creamy.
As well as being really cheap (around 50p per sachet, which serves up to 4 people), simple to make, and delicious; it is also a good way to get calcium into kids. I would recommend using semi-skimmed milk, as it still makes it nice and creamy but is not as high in fat. Beware of the numourous additives though if you are making it for small children.
In my opinion the butterscotch is by far the nicest flavour, sort of a toffee taste to it.
You can make it even better by slicing some bananas in the bottom of the bowl and then adding the angel delight, and top it off with some Chocolate buttons on top! Lovely!
Another interesting variation is to crush up some Maltesers and mix them in, very yummy!
My Mom used to make all the different flavours and layer them, which always looked nice, but I dont think the strawberry and butterscotch should be mixed. If you choose to layer it, make them in seperate bowls, and let the bottom layer set first before pouring on the next.
Hope I have inspired you! :-)
Summary: Lovely stuff!
