Angel Delight can be found in all supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco. They come in the branded version, which is Birds however supermarkets tend to do their own versions usually called Whips or something. Weight Watchers do their own version too but in my opinion nothing is better than good old fanshioned Bird's! The pudding can be found in the aisle alongside powdered custards, and usually things like potted jellies and fruits. In my particular Tesco this is above the freezers.
They come in flavours which are Butterscotch, Chocolate, raspberry and strawberry. They come in a foil packet which weighs between 47g and 67g. The chocolate one costs 33p as does the raspberry however the strawberry version costs 34p and the butterscotch version is slightly more at 42g.
The particular one I enjoy most is the butterscotch flavour. The packet is mainly a golden brown in colour which resembles the colour assosciated with fudge and caramel. There is a picture of a young boy on the front with a great big pretend smile made out of the luscious looking dessert. There is all the usual product description and on the back there is nutritional information and a puzzle too. Inside the packet, you see a powder.
The powder has to be made up with milk and all preparation instructions are on the back and really easy to follow.
I like mine when its really firm and has had a decent amount of time to set however my little brothers like it more runny and a bit more wet. The smell coming off it is very sweet but doesn't smell very butterscotch like at all. It is realy easy to cut into and can be spooned into seperate portions very easily.
The texture is extremely smooth and if you like it how I do, very thick. It reminds me of a thick yoghurt but with a slight mousse like ness to it too. The taste of butterscotch is dellicious and actually tastes quite like fudge too! It is really gorgeous and even nicer with little bits of chopped up mars bar in it!
89g prepared with semi skimmed milk contains 91 calories and 4.1g of fat. This is a decent serving size and I think 91 calories is amazing. Its less than most yoghurts and will satisfy sweet teeth a lot more than the dairy alternitive.
Not suitable for those with milk or wheat allergies.
