Advantages: Cheap and easy to make.
Disadvantages: None
This product has been around for ages. I remember buying it for my daughter when she was a toddler and I am now buying it for my grandchildren. Why? Because it is so easy to make and full of calcium just what young bones need.
Angel Delight comes in a variety of flavours (banana, butterscotch, chocolate, raspberry and strawberry) so you never get bored of this very convenient dessert. It is also available in three No Added Sugar varieties too. Each packet contains 47g of powdery ingredients and is supposed to serve 4 portions per packet. It contains no artificial colours or flavours and costs only 34p at Tesco's.
To make you just pour 300ml (!/2pint )of chilled semi skimmed or whole fresh milk into a basin add the angel delight and whisk until it is light and creamy. You then leave it for 5 minutes to thicken.
Now personally, for the grandchildren I use full fat milk but for myself and hubby I use the semi skimmed. Measuring the milk is not a problem as I use a measuring jug to actually make the dessert in so pouring the milk into a measuring jug I then add the contents of the packet. This can sometimes be a little awkward as some of the powdery stuff gets stuck in the corners of the packet, so it is worth cutting the top of the packet straight across to make sure the entire contents of the packet go into the milk. I then whisk the contents until they start to thicken and it looks like the powdery contents have all mixed with the milk. I then pop the jug and contents into the fridge until it is ready to eat. Preparation time is no longer than 5 minutes.

I always keep a couple of packets in the cupboard to have on hand for unexpected visitors as I have also used it as a substitute for cream with strawberries, chocolate cake and banana splits. It is also great for eating if you have a sore throat.

Summary: A great dessert for young and old alike.
