“ Manufacturer: Annabel Karmal / Type: Pies „
This is the last of my Annabel Karmel reviews and I'm finishing on a good one, the Chicken And Potato Pie looks, smells and even tastes delish..... and that's saying something for an adult to like it even without all the salt that this kind of thing usually has in it.
It's part of the Eat Fussy range and is made especially for children from 12 months and above..... the lumps of chicken are a bit big for very young toddlers I think and I'm sure my sister wouldn't have been able to chew a meal like this when she was just 1 year old!
The chicken is in a nice rich sauce, it's not got all that much flavour but that's because of there not being salt or any other weird stuff to enhance the flavour in it. The sauce is nice and thick though so when my sister picked up a bit of chicken on her fork it was good to see that she would get a piece that was covered nice in sauce.
The potato is very nice too, it's a bit buttery tasting but the main flavour is deffo potato and it tastes proper fresh when it comes out of the oven. The meal takes about 20 mins to cook and the top of the potato will go nice and golden brown, it doesn't actually go crispy but there is deffo a bit of a change of texture to the potato that's on the very top of the pie.
Like all the Annabel Karmel meals there is more potato than anything but the chicken is cooked proper nice so that it's lovely and tender so you don't mind about that. I reckon the potato being the main ingredient is because it's so easy for little kids to eat but for older kids like my sister (2 1/2) there looks like there is too much potato and not enough meat.... I know that because I saw her mooching under the potato for more chicken when she'd eaten the last bit! lol
