 ... sugar in the pastry , as the jam is full of sugar and pastry has a nice buttery taste anyway.Asda's pastry is quite pleasant though. The jam has a sweet fruity taste, but in my opinion more like a sort of thick jelly, I would like some little clumps of fruit in it like "real" jam. I feel like a real spoilsport as you have to try them to see if you like them, they are sweet and pleasant so you might.And they are very reasonably priced, but I can only say I won't be rushing out to get any more....more

Asdas' 6 assorted jam tarts are described on the pack as "Golden shortcrust pastry cases filled with strawberry jam,apricot jam, and apple and blackcurrant jams."If like me you love pastry and jam that sounds great.The tarts sit in little foil cases, and my first impression was very favourable, the pastry is indeed quite a nice golden brown, and the tarts have neatly serrated edges.the jams look quite gooey and tempting, and the colours are quite rich and bright. I have previously reviewed Mr Kipling Jam Tarts, which I like very much and often purchase, but recently I thought I would have a change and give some supermarket brand ones a try in my never ending quest to save some pennies. Asda Jam Tarts are made up of sweet shortcrust pastry cases with jam fillings. There are two strawberry jam tarts, two apricot ones and two apple and blackcurrant ones in a pack of six. The jam tarts are packaged in an attractive red box with a photo on the front and sides of yummy looking jam tarts surrounded by fruit.
