      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not good!

I love fish and when I spotted these for £2.00 a box I realised that I hadn't had Plaice is a very long time indeed. I always tend to opt for cod whenever I can so I really fancied this when I spotted it for a change!

      The Packaging:

Light blue box oblongish and thickish box of which the front and the back appear are the same! I am told that they are Asda '3 to 6' Breaded Plaice Fillets and that they weigh 500g and that they contain no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and no hydrogenated fat. Other information listed on the box ingredients and allergy advice, a full nutritional chart is shown, I'm given cooking instructions and storage advice (these are freezable by the way) and contact details for Asda are listed. Nice enough informative box this is to be fair to it.

      The Fish Itself:

Well in this box you can get anywhere between 3 and 6 fillets. Course no matter how many you get in a box they weigh 500g but if you get 6 fish they are rather small and if you get 3 they are rather big and there is no way of telling how many your getting when you purchase them as of course they are in a sealed box! It's kinda like a lucky dip!

I actually have purchased these twice. The first time cos I wanted to try them out and the second actually by mistake, forgetting I hadn't really liked them the first time and I got 4 fillets both times in a box.

To cook these is of course very simple! Your simply told to cook them from frozen in an oven for around 18-22 minutes and that is that.

Personally me and my mate didn't like these one bit! Small portions in a sort of square going off into a triangular shape they are thin and evenly coated in golden, tasteless breadcrumbs. They looked ok and really well coated the fish underneath but they were incredibly hard on the teeth and simply hard work to digest. The plaice fish had little taste to is at all really. Grey in appearance and flat and like someone had previously chewed it, it was sludgy and totally unappetising and smelt horrid!

The whole thing instead of being fluffy fish simply stunk and I have decided no more flat looking grey fish will be entering my tummy again as I simply deserve alot better lol. YUK!
