... don't eat this sort of thing in the morning and tend to leave it until supper time where I crave sweet things. The cereal itself doesn't smell very 'chocolatey' and I would say that the scent of the wheat shines through more when you stick your nose over the top of the box. When the milk is added they take a while to go soggy which is good for someone like me who tends to add the milk then be a bit waylaid. I am a massive lover of chocolate but I'm not a lover of chocolate cereals and find some of them too overwhe...more

Premium Review Asda Choco Hoops: Chocolate for breakfast! (539 words)

I am an absolute cereal nutcase; despite living alone I currently have no less than six boxes of cereal in my kitchen cupboard - all about to be decanted into airtight containers as there is no way it's all going to be eaten before going soft and stale. The latest own brand cereal I've sampled is Asda's Choco Hoops, which is obviously a copy of the more expensive Weetos made by Weetabix. I must say after a devouring a bowl this morning that I'm rather impressed. While I usually find Weetos a little too strongly chocolate flavoured, these Choco Hoops are much more wheaty in their flavour and this detracts a little from the rich chocolate ...  Read the complete review

I love cereals and have recently again been trying various different ones. One of the cereals I've sampled is Asda choco hoops. This can be found in only in Asda as it is specific to them however the equivalent can be found in other supermarkets such as Tesco. There are also similar cereals in branded names but you must be prepared to pay a lot more for them. They can be found in the cereal aisle alongside the other cluster based cereals. These particular ones were right next to the bite tropical fruit crunch. They come in one sized box only and this weighs 375g.This is quite a lot less than an average cereal box as they usually come in at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Choco Hoops: AS GOOD AS THE REAL THING (473 words)

These Choco Hoops are Asdas own band ones and they are delicious. You can buy them at most Asda stores they are priced at £1.38 for a 375g box. Or there is normally a deal on where you can buy two boxes for £2.00 the deal is also avaialbe on some of the other Asda cereal so you can mix what you buy. The other Asda own brand cereals that are similar to the Choco Hoops and are included in the two boxes for £2.00 are: Multigrain hoops, choco snaps, golden balls and choco flakes. I have tried the choco snaps and the choco flakes but I personally prefer the choco hoops. As the chocolate flavour is stronger and with the other chocolates ones I find that when you add ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A not so choco hoop! (307 words)

Asda Choco hoops are Asda's try at becoming the next 'Weeto's'. They cost £1.38 for a 375g box although they are currently on offer at 2 boxes for £2 which is fairly good. The cereal is made of little circular 'o's' that are made out of wheat. They have a coating of chocolate which gives them their light brown appearance and have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. They do however include added vitamins and minerals including iron. I don't eat this sort of thing in the morning and tend to leave it until supper time where I crave sweet things. The cereal itself doesn't smell very 'chocolatey' and I would say that the scent of ...  Read the complete review
