I have worked in a factory that made crisps so i know there is no two ways about it when the quality of potato's drop below a certain level they stop making the Branded crisps and start on the basic/cheap crisps so they are lower quality crisps you are buying so don't expect any different. Premium Review Asda Crisps - Ready Salted: Asda Smart Price Ready Salted Crisps good value (307 words)

Asda smart price ready salted crisps come in a big bag of 12 packets for the bargin price of 47p! I have noticed recently that the bags themselves say 58p and the shelf 47p though I wouldn't mind paying the extra 11p for these crisps. Value for money wish it works out just under 4p a bag - bargin! These are great if like me you have a partner that would for some reason quite happily live on crisps and eats at least 2 packets day. The bags themselves are smaller than normal crisps even the Asda ones at only 14g per bag but when you consider the price difference you really do get what you pay for with these. The quality of the crisps ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Adsa's ready salted (they are back) (337 words)

I have got to let everyone know that these ready slated crisps are back. When I was about 14 asda took these away from me and I think they were cruel to do so. They cost about 38p per pack at the time. Most children would be ashamed to take own brands no frills to school but I really didn't care because it meant I could take 3 packs to school and my mother didn't mind, but when I was about 16 asda stopped doing these and started doing the mixed crisps pack (cheesy puffs, salt and vinigar sticks and Oinion rings) although I like these they still do not come close to how much I enjoy the ready salted range. I have visited my asda today to find lots ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Crisps - Ready Salted: The Asda Smart Price ones are great too! (556 words)

Not long ago I tried Tesco Value crisps and was very surprised to find that they were very nice indeed so when I was in Asda yesterday I decided to try the Asda Smart Price ones to see if they were just as good. The Price A pack containing 12 packets of crisps has a price of 58p on the front but actually cost me just 47p so that's about 4p per bag. This is the same as the price I paid for the Tesco Value ones. I grant you each bag only contains 18g of crisps but 4p still sounds like a bargain to me! The Packaging The large outer bag is very plain with a bright green stripe (not red as the picture at the top of this category ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The best of the packet - 'ASDA' own brand crisps. (378 words)
by - written on 24/05/09 (Very useful, 35 readings)

I was wary about trying these crisps. As some of you may be aware from my other reviews, 'ASDAs' own brand 'Cheese and Onion' and 'Salt and Vinegar' crisps had sadly been quite a big disappointment. The price tag of just £1.22 for a bag of six in a multipack was what tempted me to buy these crisps in the first place. Possibly the cheapest crisps to buy in the whole of 'ASDA' so they were well worth the try. Where else can you buy crisps for just over 20p a packet? As I opened the packet I was apprehensive, and hoped that they tasted better than the sister flavours. This time I was a little more pleased with what I tasted. These are your average okay ...  Read the complete review

I noticed these asda smart price crisps when out shopping for some party bits for a Saturday night family gathering, it said 58p on the pack but the shelf label reads 47p. The packaging is very basic, plain white with the asda smart price logo and black writing stating - Ready salted crisps 12 packs, and a green band along the bottom off the pack that indicates the flavour, the packets of crisps inside have the same basic design. I think it's all pretty dull looking but then you don't eat the packet and if it keeps the price down it's OK with me. Good value for money, looks and tastes great none

Great price, argueably the best priced crisps on the market! Powerful in flavour - too much salt and too much grease in these crisps.
