When you open the lid of the yoghurt you are hit with by the smell of lemons, so good start, and when you put in the spoon you find it to be really thick and creamy. There are bits of lemon peel in the yoghurt which may or may not put you off it depends on if you like bits in you yoghurt. The bits themselves are slightly caramalised so they aren't bitter to taste. As you would expect fr...more

Premium Review Asda Extra Special Lemon Curd Yoghurt: Thick, creamy and full of flavour (263 words)

I decided to try the Asda Extra Special lemon Curd Yoghurt after seeing the extra special yoghurts on offer in Asda for 4 for £1. I have previously bought the Sainsbury's version of this and absoultely loved it but as I don't go there very often and they don't keep for long thought I would give this a go. The packagaing has changed from the image above and now comes in a white pot with the extra special logo on it and pieces of lemon rind. The yoghurt its made with West Country milk hence the extra special bit. In Asda recently I was a little annoyed to find that as they had their Muller yogurts on special offer there were none left, I like a substantial yogurt and find the small pots of thin supermarket yogurt just don't have the same appeal. I started browsing their Extra Special range as I've been impressed with these yogurts in the past and immediately spotted this Lemon Curd variety which jumped straight into my basket as I love the flavour of lemon curd. The tub is nice, it's made of a stiff card with an easily removed foil lid. The tub makes eating this yogurt seem much more decadent than munching out of a basic plastic Ski pot! The yogurt smells ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Extra Special Lemon Curd Yoghurt: This Supermarket Asda Best Yoghurt In Town. (709 words)

The Lemon Curd flavoured yoghurt is from Asda`s own label Extra Special Range so when I bought it I was hoping to taste something Extra special. Most supermarkets seem to adopt a premium range these days and with the massive price hikes reflected in our weekly shopping bills no-one would like to think that they were going to pay more for a run of the mill product. The Extra Special range yoghurt's are packaged differently for a start, no plastic carton for this premium dessert. A thick circular cardboard tub with zesty lemon halves adorning it, on the plastic pull back lid it tells you that the yoghurt has come from the West Country and also that it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Something Special! (865 words)

Amongst the yoghurts in the dairy section of Asda, I noticed their Extra Special range, and was lured closer to the Lemon Curd flavour. Although I'd not had a Lemon Curd yoghurt before, I am quite partial to a Tart, and thought it was most certainly worth a try. This particular yoghurt comes in a circular pot like most others, but is made of tough cardboard rather than plastic. It's a little challenge to remove the shiny lid from the white pot, but when I did, licking the lid was almost irresistible. Though there was quite a lot of the yoghurt on the lid, so I decided to scrape it back into the pot instead. As I did so, the delicious aroma filled the air ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Extra Special Lemon Curd Yoghurt: Make my own next time (207 words)

This extra special Lemon Curd Yogurt is a very nice treat even if it does have a whopping 257 calories in each pot. I have always liked lemon curd as a flavour and I was not disappointed with this yogurt. I rarely bu ready flavoured ones preferring to mix fruit with natural youghurt to create flavours however I thought I would give this one a try. It is made from Jersey milk and has a rich creamy texture to it however it is not over thick and it ver light on the spoon. The lemon curd does give it a slightly tart flavour and you can certainly taste the lemon however after a couple of spoon fulls it became a lot sweeter to my pallette. The lemon ...  Read the complete review
