... as much as possible. I had 2 with mash, peas and gravy tonight and they were yummy but I've eaten them on their own or with chips too. My mum used them in a yummy sausage casserole the other night and it was the best one she's made I reckon because the spicy sausages added another level of flavour to it. These sausages cost £2.28 but the Asda sausages are quite often on special offer and they can be frozen so you might save a few quid by stocking up then....more

There are quite a few different sausages that Asda do in their Extra Special range but the ones I'm going to write about is the pack of 6 Cumberland sausages. They're not the ring ones but normal straight sausages, they look rank before cooking because they are so pale and I always think the green bits in raw Cumberland sausages make them look like they're going rotten! lol They are yummy though. I thought they took a lot longer to cook than other Cumberland sausages I've cooked lately and they don't brown very evenly either so it's a bit hard to tell when they're cooked through. The taste of the sausages when they're cooked is lovely, proper ...  Read the complete review

Call me old fashioned but I love the traditional British banger, if I have my way it is served with creamed potato, fried onion, peas, carrots and a good thick onion gravy and if the Other Half has his way they are served with a good helping of home made chips and some peas. But it is getting harder and harder to find a `good` sausage, some of the butchers sell their own versions that are meaty and tasty but you need a second mortgage to be able to buy a pound. Sausages have to be good quality if they are going to be worth eating, the value sausages are packed with rubbish and cereal, they taste of nothing and I dread the thought of what else goes into ...  Read the complete review

After reading a review for Toad in the hole, (thank you kaitlins mummy), I got an urge!!! An urge to make (yes make!!!), toad in the hole. I decided to vamp it up a bit and plumped for ASDA's Extra special vintage cheddar and caramelised onion flavour sausages. Quite pricey at £2.48 for 6, but they sounded yummy so I slipped them in my basket. A few days later my urge to make Toad in the hole had passed (bought a frozen one from ASDA!), but the sausages were still sitting there. I decided that sausages with such a grand title needed to be enjoyed on their own, so armed with some freshly baked bread rolls from the local bakers, the sausages were placed on the grill ...  Read the complete review

like most supermarkets, Asda do their own range of special sausages with interesting flavours. I think this is a great idea and as these rnages go, Asda's is the best in my opinion. The range of sauages includes interesting flavours such as pork and apple, red wine with parma ham and cheese, and spicy cherioux. They are all very tasty. I highly recommend the posk and apple as I think these are the best. You can really taste the apple. The sauages are pretty good quality as supermarket own brands go. They are very meaty and a good size. You can get 6 sausages for about £2.50 or you can get 3 packs of siz sausages for £6. This is a really good price and it means ...  Read the complete review
