On visiting my local Asda store to do my weekly shop. I do like to go round the bakery dept and spotting in a bright cherry red bag. Something saying buy me and eat me on them. Fresh baked donuts. THE PACKAGING Bright cherry red, the top has a flap on it so you can seal them when you have eaten one and save the rest for later. The bags have on them how many donuts are in the bag ie 2 or 10 freshly baked donuts. Also on the top of the bag is the flavour. The bag really does stand out it must be the colour. It also has the asda logo on it. THE TASTE On opening of the bag you can a lovely smell of fresh doughnuts, sweet and ... Read the complete review

We bought these doughnuts from the bakery section of Asda on Satuday, they were the bargain price of 50p compared to Tescos and Somerfields costing 65p. There were 5 in the packet and we chose the Jam doughnuts although there were other varieties too. The packet was made primarilly of paper (cream in colour) with a small plastic window to see the product through. There was a sticker which was red in colour making it easy to pick between the doughnuts and not to pick up the wrong variety. On appearances I noticed that these were slightly different to those from Tescos because they looked far more sticky and had a lot less sugar on the surface, ... Read the complete review

Asda Fresh Doughnuts A packet of 5 of these doughnuts cost me £0.52 from my local Asda. They have their own in store bakery which I really like so I tend to go there to buy bread, and see what other treats are available too. They come in a paper bag which has a little window made from see through clear plastic, allowing you to see what the doughnuts look like inside. There are a few different varieties available, so you are able to choose your favourite. We went for the jam variety. Upon opening the bag, you will immediately be hit by the sweet smell of the doughnuts, this is quite appetising and likely to get your mouth ... Read the complete review

Despite a belief that the ASDA Bakery would be an oxymoron I have be regularly surprised by the amount of truely fresh and tasty food they have on offer here. The bagels were a big disappointment, but the warm sausage rolls were delicious. Each of the major supermarkets offer a pack of five fresh doughnut; all usually around the 65p range, but there are varying standards in quality, taste and overall attitude towards the foods. Asda's doughnut have proven to be the most authentic and "home-made", as Tesco's are usually hardened and sticky, and Sainsbury's a bit too suggary and slightly tougher. There is often a generous amount of filling inside, ... Read the complete review
