Advantages: Number one vs the other supermarket brands, tasty, well priced and keep for a long while.

Disadvantages: You couldn't eat them all in one go and will probably have to share them...

Despite a belief that the ASDA Bakery would be an oxymoron I have be regularly surprised by the amount of truely fresh and tasty food they have on offer here. The bagels were a big disappointment, but the warm sausage rolls were delicious.
Each of the major supermarkets offer a pack of five fresh doughnut; all usually around the 65p range, but there are varying standards in quality, taste and overall attitude towards the foods.
Asda's doughnut have proven to be the most authentic and "home-made", as Tesco's are usually hardened and sticky, and Sainsbury's a bit too suggary and slightly tougher.
There is often a generous amount of filling inside, the jam being not too sticky or artifiscial and the custard being sweet, creamy and reassuringly runny. They have always seemed to be generously filling after two, and don't leave too much of a heavy, sickly or sacharinne taste in your mouth.
They also keep well, for at least a few days, unlike the competitors' that might not even be fresh by the short trip home.

Overall they are great; tasty, filling, satifying and well priced, and will last in the cupboard for a few days if you can resist them!
