... doughnuts have been unceremoniously heaped into the paper bag, so first of all you need to make sure that you take your bag from the top of the pile where they are less likely to have been crushed. Asda are in fact giving little away, the jam doughnuts are fairly small but you have to take into account the fact that they work out at little over 12p each. If you buy a single doughnut from the bakers you would be looking at paying far more than that. The doughnuts have been evenly fried and that has given them a g...more

Just before I move onto chatting about Asda'a jam doughnuts I wondered how many of you had heard the news on the radio this morning, it appears that all of the major supermarkets are running price wars in order to gain Christmas custom - Good tidings for all of us ! In the last couple of weeks I have had a few emails from Asda offering free delivery, I wonder which goods they have tacked a penny or two onto to cover the cost of that offer ( call me Old cynic if you like !) No, I really enjoy a visit to Asda, a great store that you could spend ages walking around - so much to see and it is all very competitively priced and that includes the food, the ...  Read the complete review

I rate Asda as being the cheapest out of the 3 local supermarkets near to my house. Those being: Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda. However I do wish that cheap didn't always mean rubbish and in many cases in Asda this isn't the case, but when it comes to the bakery it is very hit and miss. The jam doughnuts come in a bag of 5 and cost £0.65 usually but are on sale at the moment for £0.50, and while I think this is good value, I would not buy these again, in fact, I wouldn't eat one again even if it were free. You can buy these individually at the counter at the Bakery too for £0.28. The jam doughnuts are covered in sugar rather than icing ...  Read the complete review
