Advantages: Great sized chunks of fruit, full of taste and a variety of textures, fantastic price!

Disadvantages: I'm struggling to think of any!

I usually have 'Weetabix' for breakfast, but fancied a change that would increase the fibre in my diet, so of course, I decided to try 'ASDA's Fruit & Fibre' cereal when I was doing my weekly shop.

I've tried other fruit and fibre cereals, but I think this one is actually the best of the bunch! It doesn't mess about, this one, gives you exactly what you want for your fruity breakfast!

As I've begun to notice, 'ASDA' doesn't really tend to bother much when it comes to packaging, some products have a small amount that isn't meant for aesthetic purposes, but then there's some that are, and I think this is one of the products they have made a bit more of an effort with. I like how I can see clearly the different parts to this cereal on the outside, and the variety of fruits and nuts in this is excellent! It's quite eye catching and highlights that this product is 'high in fibre' which is great for me!

Upon inspection inside the box, I was surprised to see healthy large sized chunks of fruit, I had imagine that they would be small and sparsely populated amongst the flakes, but no, 'ASDA' wanted to give you a bowl full of goodness in the morning! There were a good amount of raisins which was fantastic. I do like my raisins, especially when having fruit and fibre, and so many products only give you a few. I was definitely beginning to like this cereal, it was ticking all the right boxes!

Once I had poured my cereal into a bowl, and added some milk, I was onto the test taste, and what a test it was! The cereal was delicious. Full of flavour, the banana flakes tickled those taste buds in my mouth, the raisins added that hint of something sweet and the nuts and flakes added to the experience. It definitely wasn't bland, which is what I was gearing it up to be. I just couldn't get over the size of the banana slices, because they were the size of a normal banana sliced into slices, other brands decide to chop them up even smaller, and I love having the larger chunks!

The different textures were a great mix, and was variety in my morning. From always having 'Weetabix' I loved the crunchy banana flakes, soft chewy raisins, crispy flakes and firm nuts. This was a breakfast cereal that couldn't get boring, as every texture I would want was right in my bowl!

The box I got was just £1, and in comparison to other own brand fruit and fibre cereals, it is the cheapest on the market.

For a 30g bowl of 'Fruit & Fibre' along with semi-skimmed milk, there's just 169 calories, which is great, considering this is just a bit less than a chocolate bar and so very fulfilling! Out of the 30g, there's just 4g of fat, and 0.4g of salt. Unfortunately the sugar content is pretty high at 13.9g, so this might be something you have to watch.

On the whole this is quickly becoming one of my favourite breakfast cereals. It's just the taste, the texture and at just a pound per box, who can complain? When it starts to bite in the recession, you can turn to this cheaper, and probably healthier cereal!

Summary: A great fruity start to your morning from 'ASDA's Fruit & Fibre' breakfast cereal.

I like this one the best too. I have Sainsbury's at the moment, but it's just not quite as good.
