I normal buy Sharwood's Korma sauce but I was cooking for my young daughter aswell; giving her a taste of her first Korma. For this reason I decided to buy this product as it was healthier for all of us with less salt and additives. This sauce is mild enough for young children and me (sensitive palate). It has onion, cream, coconut and almonds all blended in along with lots of herbs. It has a very creamy and slightly sweet taste. I love Coconut but my partner isnt a fan so this is ideal as its not overpowering like some Korma Sauces. It is a soft yellow colour and has a smooth and creamy texture to it. I was feeling a bit lazy tonight and having got some chicken fillets in the fridge ready to eat I decided to make use of this jar of Asda Good For You Korma Cooking Sauce which has been sitting in the cupboard waiting for just such an occasion when I could not be bothered faffing around cooking something from scratch when there is only the two of us. This ready made sauce contains onion, coconut, almonds and garam masala as the main ingredients including curry paste as well. In an attempt to reign in my ever expanding girth I decided to start replacing my usual products with low fat and low sugar versions of the same, hence my foray into the 'Good for You' range sold in Asda. At 79p for a 570g jar this cooking sauce seemed like the ideal solution to a tight budget and an even tighter waist band so I swapped my usual Patak sauce for this one. With 109 calories per quarter jar and less than 5% fat I felt my hips sigh with relief as I put the Korma sauce into my trolley alongside some saintly chicken breasts and basmati rice.
