Advantages: scrumptious, fruity, healthy, cheap

Disadvantages: Only availale at Asda

There's nothing quite like a refreshing pot of yoghurt on a warm summers' day, it's such a marvellous thing. Unfortuantely, this is Britain! Our Summer days are few and far between. I suppose I'll have to make do with just the yoghurt then...

The latest dessert I decided to sample was the 150g pot of Black Cherry yoghurt from the Good For You range in Asda. I had enjoyed several different Cherry options throughout that month and had had a positive experience with each. I was hoping this one would live up to my expectations.

When I peeled back the shiny lid, on which you could see an attractive cherry image, I noticed that the yoghurt was quite a pale purple colour, much lighter than I had expected. Through it, I could clearly make out nice sized chunks of cherry fruit. They were much darker in colour, more of a plum colour, and gave it an interesting appearance.

The sweet smell that drifted out was glorious. It was incredibly rich and tangy, most refreshing too. Spooning some of the yoghurt into my mouth, I was quite surprised by its taste. It was not sweet like I had expected, but rather quite sour. Its bitter taste was certainly unique, but I could not work out whether I liked it or not at first.

By the time I had finished, I established that I did in fact like its taste; it had grown on me. However, I cannot say that it was the nicest yoghurt I have tasted to date. In fact, I'd rank it quite low in the 'cherry chart', putting it at the bottom of that flavour option.

Although its not the most scrumptious fruity yoghurt around, I will still recommend this. If you are looking for a yoghurt incredibly rich in cherry flavour, then this is not necessarily the way to go, however if it is just a milk taste you are after, with quite a thin texture and slightly juicy fruit pieces, then I'll suggest this one.

Its quite healthy too, compared to the more tasty options. Its Aspartame-free (a product that has many health issues), and is virtually fat free. It is also low in calories, with just 91 calories per pot, so its ideal for dieters!

Whether you fancy adding this fruity yoghurt with other foods to create a tasty treat, or eat it straight from the pot, this one is worth trying in order to experience a mild, fruity taste.
