You won't notice this till you've had a few mouthfulls of it but then it will become very evident. The best way to resolve this is add something like ice cream or custard like I mentioned before. Also I found that warming it up slightly, does increase the mositure in the sponge.

When I was recently in my local Asda, I fancied something sweet as a bit of a treat and decided to opt for this Lemon Maderia cake. At under 70p it was certainly great value of money, but did this turn out to be a wise decision? Well the cake has a nice sweet lemony taste to it and the icing compliments the soft lemon sponge beautifully. A slice works well cold with some ice cream or even warmed slightly with some custard.
