Advantages: It was small enough to fit in my handbag

Disadvantages: Taste, texture, everything else besides

I recently decided that spending £3+ a day o sandwiches etc at work was a waste of money and that I should become a bit more money savvy and start taking in my own.

Problem is I'm inherently lazy, and getting up even 5 minutes earlier to make a sandwich does not appeal, so I thought I'd get some snack pot type affairs to take in with me, pop them in the bag, add in hot water, and munch, money saved.

So Asda had on offer 3 for £1.50 some pasta snack pots.
I opted for two chicken and mushroom and one of the tomato variety.
I took a chickenm one in with me, and I've got to admit I was quite looking forward to being all virtuous.

On attempting to peel off the top label (as instructed) it didnt peel off in one whole piece, instead it came off in slivers and pieces which annoyed me.
So I added on my boiling water to the fill line, and watched it bubble a bit, and then gave it a stir.
The instructions say to leave it for five minutes. As its all dried product inside, it needs rehydrating.
Five minutes was definitely not long enough, and after I gave it a really good stir, the liquid in the pot bore an uncanny resemblence to wall paper paste!
Consistency wise it wasnt much better. By the time I finally got round to eating it, about 8 minutes after adding in the hot water, it had gone cold, the liquid was congealing, and the pasta was still hard.
It wasnt exactly large pasta shapes either, so I couldnt quite figure out why it hadn't absorbed the water.
It was really hard trying to eat it not knowing when the pasta I popped in my mouth was "cooked" through or if I was in from some crunchy wall paper paste!

Flavour wise, there wasnt much to write home about. It did taste like chicken and mushroom but it also tasted very chemically, and the pieces of mushroom in the pot had that "I've been freeze dried" taste and texture to it.

There was no redeeming qualities about the product. Hard to make well, lacking in taste, went cold quickly, weird texture and came out nothing like the picture, and the most disappointing thing...... I've still got two more of them in my cupboard!!

Summary: I'm upset I had to give it even 1 star
