When I was a young girl, my mum would always go into the City Centre on a friday to pay some bills. Every week without fail she would return with a bag of Pic N Mix and a pomegranite. Me and my brother would sit infron tof the TV and eat until everything was finished and then be sent to bed. I was made to believe that Pic N Mix was the most expensive thing in the world which was why my bag had around ten sweets in the bottom. If I ever got the chance to fill a bag for myself then my mum would be stood by watching me and move in before I had put five sweets inside my bag! At 57p per 100 grams, the Pik N Mix in my local Asda is certainly competitively priced. Our local market is 49p, but the one in the mall is £1.20, so for a mainstream shop, 57p is pretty good. The Pik N Mix offers around 30 different sweets, all in separate plastic containers. You fill your own bag, weigh it, and then pay at the check-out. Fairly often, the scales aren't working, so you have to go on guesswork, which is a bit of a let-down really. Selction wise, there's a good mix of Asda's own, with regular classics, and then some weird bits and bobs. This review is slightly unusual as it is about lots of things. I have been working as a merchandiser in Asda for about three months now and one of my areas of responsibility is the Pick 'n' Mix. At our Asda we have just one bay of sweets on our Pick 'n' Mix which consists of 36 individual pods arranged in six rows of six. Just briefly my job consists of making sure that the pods are kept as full as possible at all times. I restock on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays cleaning and replacing the scoops used to access the sweets and cleaning the finger marks off the outside of the pods each time.
