 ... too bad to put out at a buffet for people to have a little of but to think I've got this sat in my fridge needing to be used is a bit off putting. In future I think I'll buy some sour cream and some chives and make my own. I'm normally a fan of Asda's food stuff but this ws a big disappointment to me so only gets 2/5 and that would be for a buffet use not for me and the other half on our own again....more

We decided to have a carpet picnic last night and so popped into Asda to get a few bits and pieces. We walked to the chilled dips section and had a look at the selection on offer. Now we don't have a small Asda but the selection wasn't great but at 2 for £1.50 (88p on its own) we picked up this reduced fat dip. The packaging is as above and has a cardboard sleeve over a plastic tub which has a plastic protective ring around the outside of it so that you know it hasn't been opened before. I love 'snacky' type of foods - things that I can just pick at - but often these tend to be quite fattening. I decided to start eating a bit more healthily and instead of buying crisps or chocolate, went for vegetables sticks and bought this reduced fat dip to go with them. The dip comes in a clear, round plastic tub which is housed in an orange cardboard sleeve which tells me that this contains 50% less fat than the standard equivalent. When I opened the dip it did look quite nice. Essentially this is sour cream, fromage frais, reduced fat mayonnaise and white wine vinegar with cheese, chives and onion.
