Advantages: Cheap n cheerful actually taste nice

Disadvantages: Poorly maketed i felt bad buying them because some folks stare when you buy yhrm

Im on a economy drive at the moment so im getting to try loads of own supermarket brands to try at the moment.

These were bought last week at my local ASDA shop as an alternative to buying branded beans such as Heinz or Cross and Blackwell.

You can see that the packaging is a biton the no frills side of marketing the beans come in a white tin with the wording smart price baked beans. Cmon ASDA try to make the packaging a bit more exciting to buyers just because they are cheap it doesnt mean to say that the packaging has to be unapealing.

Anyway I decided to try them neat on toast for my tea last night. I opened the tin with no trouble but i have to note that the sauce did not seem as thick as branded beans sauce usually is. Another thing is that when i poured them into the saucepan i ended up with a majority of the beans left in the tin and had to scape them out with a spoon.

When served I was pleasantly surprised witht he flavour the sauce did have a nice tomato tang and the beans had kept their shape well.

Overall im very surprised that these beans were so nice for the money well worth stocking up with these babies as for the money you cant eat them and they make a good heart meal when served on toast.

Summary: Overall very impressed with the flavour and texture of the beans - tangy tomato sauce
